MORE ABOUT SAMSUNG GALAXY S20 ULTRA
This year we have a new member of the Samsung premium range that is crowned the best of all the Samsung Galaxy S20 presented by the firm at its Unpacked event in February 2020. This S20 Ultra comes with the screen and the camera as its main weapons against the competition, but they are not the only characteristics that we can highlight from the mobile.
For example, the phone aims to be one of the best performance it will offer in 2020, not only thanks to its Exynos 990 processor again with 5G connectivity, but also its 16 GB of RAM and storage capacity of reaching 1, 5 TB. To this is added a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charge, wireless and reversible.
In the technical sheet of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, we review each and every one of the keys that aim to become the best phone of 2020
SCREEN
What stands out most about the phone at first glance is, without a doubt, its screen. And it is that although it does not manage to reach 7 inches, it stays in a size of 6.9 ″ that makes it a fairly large smartphone. Despite its almost total elimination of the edges of the display, it allows a good grip and makes the smartphone, with an aspect ratio of 20: 9, one of the best mobile phones of the year for the consumption of multimedia content.
And it is that this Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O screen with a hole in the upper area to house the front camera (40 MP resolution and f / 2.2 aperture, no less), boasts a WQHD + resolution of 3200 x 1440 that ends up generating a density of 511 PPI. Of course, it has the same refresh rate that we find in its little brothers of 120 Hz to make the transmission of content on the screen smoother.

HDR10 + certified, it features Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, as well as support for 16 million colors and capacitive touch technology. Just under the glass of this panel, we find the fingerprint reader to unlock the device.
PROCESSOR
No change in this point compared to the rest of the Galaxy S20 presented in February 2020. The Exynos 990, equipped with NPU and 5G modem, is in charge of making the Galaxy S20 Ultra one of the best-performing phones of the year. It is an 8-core chipset manufactured in a 7nm process that reaches a speed of up to 2.73 GHz.
This CPU is flanked by a state-of-the-art Mali G77 MP11 GPU that is capable of supporting any type of graphics processing, however demanding it may be.
MEMORY
The smartphone debuts LPDDR5 memory, reaching 6.4Gbps speed, making it almost twice as fast as those used in smartphones last year. Storage, on the other hand, features the latest UFS 3.0 technology.
In terms of configuration, we have models with 12 and 16 GB of RAM, while storage ranges from 128 GB in the base model to 512 in the top of the range. Both support expansion through 1 TB MicroSD cards so if you get the one with the most internal memory it offers, adding the memory card you would have a total space of 1.5 GB.
CAMERA
Along with the screen, the strong point of the Samsung smartphone. It is a component similar to the Plus model but with slight differences, especially in the telephoto lens and, of course, in the main lens.

All of those camera sensors on the Galaxy S20 Ultra also come together in a rectangular module. On the one hand, we have a 108 MP (main) sensor with ƒ / 1.8 equipped with OIS and with the ability to record 8K video at 30 fps. They are followed by a 12 MP (wide-angle) sensor with ƒ / 2.2, a 48 MP (telephoto) sensor with ƒ / 3.5, and the possibility to “play” with a hybrid 10X optical and 100X digital zoom, accompanied by an OIS. Lastly, we have a DepthVision sensor that allows us to adjust the blur of the photographs.
The viewing angle options that the Samsung application allows us, thanks to these sensors are Zoom 0.5X, 1X, 2X, 10X, 20X, 30X, and 100X. Of course, we can choose whether to capture the images in Raw or Jpg.
As for the selfie camera, located in the perforation that is located in the center of the upper part of the screen, it features a 40 MP sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 0.7 microns.
BATTERY
Since it is the phone with the largest screen size, it is logical that the brand has mounted a battery with a greater capacity than in the other members of the S20 family.
In the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, we have a 5,000 mAh capacity battery that should be more than enough to keep the phone on for more than 48 hours under normal use. However, the firm has not yet informed us of the autonomy data offered by this cell in the 6.9-inch smartphone.
What we do know is that, as it could not be otherwise, we can charge it in just two hours thanks to the 45W fast charge technology present in the equipment. Of course, there are also the, already classic at Samsung, wireless and reversible charging technologies to provide power to other devices.
CONNECTIONS
In the field of connectivity, we find a great difference with its little brothers, not at the level of possibilities but at the level of commercialization. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is a 5G model that does not offer the option to buy without this technology, while the S20 and S20 + are offered for sale with 4G or 5G.

Beyond this difference, we find the same capacities between each other. That is, compatibility with 5G NSA sub-6 networks that have download speeds of 2 Gbps and 150 Mbps upload as well as Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac networks in the 2.4 GHz and 5 bands. GHz. To this, we add NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS connectivity with A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and GALILEO.
At the level of physical connectors, beyond the fingerprint reader under the screen we only find a USB Type C that serves to connect the smartphone to the charger, the computer, and headphones with the same type of port, since the Samsung Galaxy Like the entire S20 range, the S20 Ultra dispenses with the 3.5mm minijack connector.
