MORE ABOUT SAMSUNG GALAXY S20
The Samsung Galaxy S20 gives name to the new range of flagships that the Korean manufacturer launched in February 2020 to dominate its catalog of smartphones. We are talking about a phone that radically changes its design by inheriting the Infinity-O panel from the Note 10 range and that debuts a new camera module on the back, this time equipped with 3 photographic sensors.
But they are not the only novelties that we find at the top of the range of the mobile phone manufacturer, because there is its renewed display technology, its long-lasting battery, and the different options of collective that shape the S20. To highlight, how could it be otherwise, its compatibility with 5G networks.
In the following lines, you will find detailed information on each and every one of the characteristics that give life to the smartphone of the technology company.
SCREEN OF Galaxy S20
The Samsung Galaxy S20 has Dynamic AMOLED technology on its screen that reaches a size of 6.2 inches and has a Quad HD + resolution. Thanks to this new technology we will obtain a better definition and lower consumption. It boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection against scratches and with support for HDR10 + and Always-on. Its density is 563 dpi.
It is an Infinity-O panel inherited from the 2019 Note 10 range that sports a hole in the central part of the upper edge of the display to hide the front camera. It features 16 million colors and capacitive technology plus an integrated under-glass fingerprint scanner.
PROCESSOR OF Galaxy S20
The S20, like its range brothers, debuts a new Exynos 990 processor officially unveiled in late 2019. It comes with a new GPU, support for 120Hz displays, and a significant boost in performance.
Manufactured under a 7nm EUV process it is 20% faster and more energy-efficient than its predecessors, the Exynos 9820 and Exynos 9825. It is configured with 8 different cores: two custom 2.7 GHz cores, two Cortex units High-performance 2.6 GHz A76, and a quad group of low-power Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz.
The Exynos 990 maintains a dual-core NPU, but its DSP has improved to the point that it can now perform more than ten billion operations per second. It also has a 5G modem that gives its conductivity with this new standard, with NSA sub-6 networks.
Its GPU is a Mali G77 MP11 that is the best in the sector so you will find yourself with zero problems when it comes to running the most demanding game on the Play Store.
MEMORY OF Galaxy S20
Two versions of RAM and one of storage, that is what we find in the configuration of the Samsung Galaxy S20. On the one hand, we have an 8 GB version of RAM + 128 GB of internal memory, and then a second one that increases the RAM memory to 12 GB.
Either model supports memory expansion using a MicroSD card of up to 1TB capacity.
CAMERA OF Galaxy S20
Another aspect where the Samsung mobile phone evolves the most. Starting with its design, we went from finding the rear cameras housed in a center module as in the previous generation of phones, to being located in the upper left corner. Here a square module gathers the 3 rear sensors of the mobile together with the LED Flash of the device.
At the head of this triple camera, we have a 12 MP sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.4 microns. It is complemented by a telephoto lens of nothing more and nothing less than 64 MP with a pixel size of 0.8 microns and f / 2.0 aperture that is in charge of equipping the smartphone with an optical 3X zoom (30X digital). To these sos sensors are added the third sensor of 12 MP and f / 1.8 that, with a pixel size of 1.8 microns, functions d wide angle. Both this and the telephoto lens have OIS to avoid blurred images.
At the video level, this camera is one of the best on the market and makes it possible to record clips at 8K and at a speed of 30 fps, with different degrees of slow motion.
Moving to the front, the great novelty of the design of the Samsung Galaxy S20 is the inheritance of the Infinity-O panel of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, which is why the front camera is housed in that small hole that is located in the upper central part from the screen. Inside it, we come across a 10 MP lens with a pixel size of 1.22 microns and f / 2.2 aperture. To this, we add the possibility of recording video at 4K and 60 fps.
BATTER OF Galaxy S20
Once again the battery is a component of great importance for the firm. This time we find a 4,000 mAh cell that performs better than the previous generation thanks to the energy savings proposed by the Samsung Exynos 990 that we find at the heart of the device.
It supports Samsung Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 fast charging as well as reversible charging to power other devices using the Qi standard.
Mainly to highlight the compatibility of the mobile with 5G NSA sub-6 networks that allow it to reach download speeds of 2 Gbps and 150 Mbps upload. Beyond this we have support for Wi-Fi networks 802.11a (5GHz), 802.11ac (5GHz), 802.11b (2.4GHz), 802.11g (2.4GHz), 802.11n (2.4GHz), WiFi 6 ( 802.11ax) and Wi-Fi Direct, plus 4 × 4 MIMO. The smartphone also has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and GALILEO.
On a physical level, we have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor housed under the screen of the mobile phone and a USB Type-C port with which we can charge the smartphone battery, execute the data transfer and connect the headphones to the Samsung Galaxy S20 since the mobile does not have 3.5mm minijack port.
- Samsung Galaxy S20 (8GB RAM / 128GB): 899 euros
- Samsung Galaxy S20 5G (12GB RAM / 128GB): 999 euros
